I'm about to empty the last of the Venison & Green Pea cat food into the "special needs" cat's bowl.  Last month, the food was recalled due to contamination.  Her food wasn't in the recalled lot, and the pet store assured me that they'd have a new batch in three weeks.  Now, four weeks later, the company doesn't have any non-contaminated food available for sale.  The cat's proven to be allergic to chicken, turkey, fish, and lamb.  She's recovering from a really bad spell (she was sneaking over to Henry's room and eating his cat chow), so I can't just put down a bowl of cat chow in her room.  The vet figures that it would kill her.  The only other non-chicken/turkey/fish/lamb food is one of those BY-PRESCRIPTION-ONLY-VETS-SELL-IT foods, with rabbit as the main protein source.  The only vet in town that regularly stocks the food is sold out.  I called my vet this morning, and asked her to special order the food, with the extra shipping costs to get it here before the holiday weekend.

In other news, my least-used-but-longest-held credit card has deemed me (and possibly millions of others) worthy of a Diamonique Rewards card with a "personal concierge service" for "whatever you need, whatever you want." Sounds familiar.
