Puttin on the Hits!

After buying and burning 12 songs from iTunes, I've got a new-to-me mix cd with me at work. Today, I'm pretty glad that my back faces the cube aisle, since I'm just lip-synching like I'm going for the grand prize on Puttin On The Hits. (Although my attire is falling short of the combined Lionel Richie / Diana Ross outfit of the Endless Love performance.)

Maybe people need to have a nice soundproof space at work where they can exorcise the lip-synching demon.

Booga

I bought new yarn for a new knitting project. I need a nice bag to carry my dancing shoes to Friday night dances. I'm knitting a supersized Booga bag with a black-grey wool mixed with some Reynolds Lite-Lopi silver sparkle thread-like wool.

Of course, I'm still working on the coworker scarf, made with Emmanuella Goddess #1374 chocolate and Plymouth Yarns Electra #26.

Ballroom Dancing Week 5

For four weeks (Mondays, Jan 16 to Feb 6), my little dance class has been learning the basic steps of the Foxtrot, Waltz, Rumba, and Tango. For the fifth class (Mon, Feb 13), no new steps were introduced, we were just able to practice all that we had learned. For The Big Dance, the music wouldn't stop and start as it did during the weeks of class. Instead, we got complete songs, and the latitude to do any of the steps we had learned.

Of course, eventually, someone would almost kill their partner in frustration and we would end up back in "class mode".
How lucky that I took my camera and have photos.

The rest of class was fine.  I've mastered the Tango Butterfly move and the Waltz double-chasse'.  I may even be able to bluff my way through an Open Fan in the Rumba.  As for Guy... well... some things are just not meant to last forever.
