With the wildfires spreading across Texas and Oklahoma, it makes me paranoid about losing my home to a fire.
I end up doing the mental "what would I grab" list a hundred and thirty seven times (or so) before being able to let go of the fear.
Given time and somewhat of a clear mind (neither of which is guaranteed during a true emergency):
- 2 cats; even if they're hiding under the bed or in a closet, I have to think that I would try to get them first
- purse/wallet/keys
- carebear that I've slept with since 1982
